Supporting Local Nonprofits and Global Partnerships
The 12th annual Kite Fest benefiting For A Better Tomorrow will take place on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Grove Elementary School, located at 1101 N. Airport Road, Normal. This event promises to be an exciting celebration of community and giving back, with a variety of activities and entertainment options for kids and adults alike.
Funds Raised for Nonprofits and Global Partnerships
The funds collected from this event and from For A Better Tomorrow’s summer youth leadership program, Youth Global Citizen, will benefit a number of nonprofit agencies seeking grant funding. In the first quarter of 2024, FBT received 66 grant applications, and the agency selected three global nonprofits — Street Child USA (Sudan), Give Us Wings (Ghana) and Grace Cares (Dominican Republic) — as recipients, and four McLean County nonprofits: Prairie Pride Coalition, Project Oz, Promise Council and Bent Elementary PTO.

History of Kite Fest
Since its inception, Kite Fest has donated approximately $185,000 to 45 nonprofits. Last year’s event attracted over 2,200 attendees and collected $11,500. The funds raised from Kite Fest have supported a range of causes, including education, healthcare, and community development.
