The Power of the Kite

The kite is a simple yet powerful symbol that has been used in various cultures and contexts to convey messages about life, perseverance, and the human spirit. In the context of Holla’s art, the kite represents a powerful metaphor for life, where only the successful outcomes are visible, and the hard work and struggles are often overlooked.

The Kite as a Symbol of Perseverance

The kite is often associated with the idea of rising above challenges and persevering through difficult times. In many cultures, kites are seen as a symbol of hope and resilience, representing the ability to overcome adversity and achieve success. The kite’s ability to soar high in the sky, despite the wind and rain, is a powerful metaphor for the human spirit’s capacity to rise above challenges.

The Early Years of Team Mangalore

In the late 1990s, B Sarvesh Rao, a passionate kite enthusiast, decided to form a team to promote and showcase the art of kite flying in Mangalore. With a vision to create a community of like-minded individuals who shared his passion, Rao founded Team Mangalore in 1998. The team’s early years were marked by a series of kite-making workshops, where members learned the art of crafting kites from scratch.
